    another photoshop question...

    how do you cut things out, like an odject (ie person or something) out of a photograph? especially this being done without a strenuous amount of work with the paint brush...

    also, this would be a lot nicer (i assume this can be done) that you can cut something out to be a layer, where just the object is the layer, if you get what i'm saying.

    i still can't figure out the transparency thing, i dunno what the deal is, using PS 7.0, so if you have pointers on that, that would be great too.

    Find the magnetic lasso

      zoom in and use the pen tool to trace out the object and then load the path as selection.

        aahhh... the pen thing makes sense for sho'. the lasso isn't that accurate

          That's because you should _not_ use the magnetic lasso. At least, not unless there is a really clear definition between the object you want and the stuff behind it. In my opinion, removing objects from a background is the hardest thing to learn about graphics design. Just keep working at it, though, and you'll learn all kinds of little tricks.

              I believe this is done best with Image/Extract.

              Play around with that tool.

              Can't give you any more than that I'm afraid, look on the net for tutorials...or the help file maybe?

                what about the quick mask when i use this and drag it into another image i allways get a faded ghost effect i cant seem to make it a solid object any idea what im doing wrong?
