Ways to clean a glass bong

How can I clean a nice glass bong? I normally use Purple Power, but we're out of that, and I don't really feel like buying more if I don't have to.. What else will get the crap off the walls of this thing?

dont use or buy anything.

rubbing alcohol and salt.

cleans better than anything, simply let it sit in the mixture it will break up all the gunk and does most of tyhe work for you.

i clean my stems and stuff daily and change the water twice a day.

damn its 9 am now i wanna smoke.

Fill your sink up with bleach, and dip it. Fill it full of the water, and let it sit for about 10 minutes, then dip it again.

Don't do this if you have any decals on there.

That's how us mountain men do it.

not good.

bleach will eat away at the rubber stoppers and seals on your bong in adition to it just being harsh to deal with bleach.

dont listen to hybrid.

water doesnt break down oil.

the resin left from smokein is like a grease, water doesnt do anything.

the alcohol and salt tears it apart chemically.

right now I have a Blueberry Northern lights hybrid. and when I clean my bong it takes like 5 minutes because of the salt and alcohol, you guys can use what you want but take it from a pro.

Add a little vinegar to salt and alcohol solution...........Keeps the residue of the salt and alcohol off the glass............ So I have heard.

i never buy those overpriced pipe-cleaning solutions... i have found that the cleaning product "Oxy-Clean" works wonders against tar and resin... dissolve some of it w/ warm water in a cup and soak your utensils for an hour, it will be squeaky clean and no harsh bleach aftertaste left behind..!

...promise her a defamation, tell her where the rain will fall..

This is the way to go.....and for a change replace water for
Black Rum (Havana Club 7 or 9 years) or Sugar Cain Rum.

It adds a very nice taste to your smoke and keeps your bong
a lot cleaner than water

No, Fletch is right.. After further research, any alcohol will do.. Salt also helps, and the best (and fastest) idea I read about was rice and rubbing alcohol.. the rice just does some of the scrubbing for you..

Clean with a brush is bad, risks breaking the internal glass stem..

And fletch you seriously clean your bowl twice a day? We have a nice big glass bowl, I could soak it in alcohol too I guess

i keep my downstems around, and i change out my water for every bowl.

i like the water cool and clean. I smoke reeeeally good herbs, and want to taste it.

i have more than one bong so I am always cleaning one and using the other etc.

this shit i got from my friend, is indoor grown in Humboldt.

i use fridge water so its ice cold, thats why I change the water every bowl, saves with dealing with the ice every time.

if you keep putting ice in your bong, it fills up with water, if you change the water (cold) same thing, without the ice.

if you have a Sparkletts water cooler its even better. keeps the hardware clean and the water fresh.

They´re awesome one of my best friends runs a huge wholesale

Fletch is right this is THE way to clean a bong. I find I get faster results if I rinse with very hot water first. Then dump in a bunch of salt-fill with alcohol-let sit for about ten minutes-swirl the salt around and rinse. Best way and easiest way I have ever found to clean a bong.

same here.

a close friend has a buddy that runs one as well.

I have a few pieces, i dont put too much emphasis on multiple bongs, just maintaining the ones I do have, but cool glass is always nice.

My little brother is graduating highschool at the END of May and thats when Ill be rolling into new Orleans.

I have friends who work at House Of Blues on Decatur up near Canal St and always get the killer free passes with a roll of beer tickets, i miss that damn fest.

I looked at the one Labret picked up.

Never really got into em. My friend has one its an old one, very different but same theory.

Id like to try one of the Vapirs though, but hear its not the same and most mis the taste from combustion.

When you smoke with Vaporizer there is no combustion, no flame, so the flavor is diffeent.

Isopropyl Alcohol..keep running it through until it's clean..but pour the alcohol etc into a bowl and set it in front of a fan... Once the alcohol evaporates you'll have yourself some VERY strong resin (yes, you will get MAJORLY stoned from it), AND a squeaky clean bong.

Not that I would know or anything. But I have heard that if you use grain alcohol a capful of vinegar and salt it works like a charm.

Rubbing Alcohol and Rice.

The rice act as little sponges while the starch and alcohol break down the resins. Salt works too, just not quite as well IMO.

* And dont pour the rice out into the sink as they will swell and possibly cause blockage in the drain. Toilet is fine.

I take the downstem out and put it in a glass bowl with enough alcohol to at least let it flow through the middle.

I dont measure salt or nothing, I simply grab the shaker and shake a bunch on there, i dont think it matters,dont go crazy but at least cover the stem and see it the salt gather on the bottom of the bowl... youll see it wont dissolve quickly or anything just throw a few 'tablespoons' in there I guess if you wanted to measure.

let the stem soak.

then depending on your bong, pour about as much alcohol as you would water. then apply roughly about the same amount of salt, not too much, just let say 3 tablespoons.

let it soak, if you have to use a poker so be it, itll come off easly, youll be amazed at the difference.

the day i started using salt and alcohol i started cleaning my bong way more often because its so easy and helps keep it easy on your throat wet from daily bong smokin of the killer chronic .... flush with water. load, then *bizowl.

eh, ill smoke one now.

For smoking Try filling your bong with HOT water .. just let it sit for a few secs before you take it down .. not as smooth as with ice .. but it gets in your head better .
