8 mile was a damn good movie, and that type of movie could have been fucked up and cheesed so many ways - but the producers and directors and Em tried their best to make the movie good without cheesy hollywood type shit. I think they did a good job.

I remember seeing only two hollywood cheese parts in the movie, but nothing so big that made everything else fucked up...
When they was riding and saw the police car, and Em was out the window with a paint gun... sorry but anyone in their right mind would have freaked out and shit bricks that your boy was shooting a police car with a paint ball gun... that type of shit will get you KILLED... but his boys just laughed along. If I did that with my friends, no matter the race, they would be on my ass all paranoid cuz Im shootin cop cars with a bs gun. Come on!
there was some other cheesy part but I forgot what it was... nevertheless.... Im one of those people that easily get their mind a-stray when they see some cheesy bullshit in a movie that makes you question it.... Im not 12, Im 25, and its harder to 'get in to' movies these days - they just have to be mad good to get in the plot (if there is one). But this 8 mile was done nice enough that the cheese I encountered didnt keep my brain away from the dopeness of the movie.

Lose Yourself is one of the most creative and stylish rap songs ever made, much less title soundtrack.
8 Mile was a great movie, it disappointed some because it wasn't a "rags to riches" story, rather a more subtle tale of struggling with recognition, talent and potential versus the hard reality of life at the bottom.
But that's just my opinion.
