I think he was trying to elicit this exact response. I mean, a soldier in Somalia trying to take out a warlord, a woman in Israel trying to stop innocent people's houses being bulldozed..
yet one is called a dumb bitch, and the other deserves our undying respect.
I guess he's trying to show that if you can't be compassionate about someone trying to do something they believe to be for the greater good because of the type of person she was, then by showing you the exact same sentiment people were showing to her to a dead soldier that believed he was doing good you may understand some of the hypocrisy people feel is involved.. gtting in cheap shots ona a dead woman is a bit sad. Ask yourself this, if an american ex-soldier was bulldozed trying to protect someone's house would his death be more tragic?

My principal domains are registered in a business name that has no obvious connection to me. Most of the domains listed here were ones I used when i started out and traffic is now down to a trickle...

But it is nice to know I have stalkers who can't stop thinking about me.

There is a huge difference. Maybe "dumb, dead activist" isn't the the most appropriate headline but there is no comparison:

1) The activist stood in front of a bulldozer. She should not have been there. She entered the area at her own risk. She excercised her own free will.

2) This soldier did not choose to go try to help Somalis. He was doing his duty. In the line of duty he was brutally beaten, killed and subsequently mocked. That image is ingrained in the American consciousness representing our failure in Somalia, a very touchy subject (a little too Vietnam-esque). Consequently, recklessly showcasing that picture is disrespectful to the soldier, his family and every American.

There is a huge difference. Maybe "dumb, dead activist" isn't the the most appropriate headline but there is no comparison:

1) The activist stood in front of a bulldozer. She should not have been there. She entered the area at her own risk. She excercised her own free will.

2) This soldier did not choose to go try to help Somalis. He was doing his duty. In the line of duty he was brutally beaten, killed and subsequently mocked. That image is ingrained in the American consciousness representing our failure in Somalia, a very touchy subject (a little too Vietnam-esque). Consequently, recklessly showcasing that picture is disrespectful to the soldier, his family and every American.

I didn't 'recklessly' showcase that picture. I posted it to make a point. One that even though explained in this thread you have obviously missed. It's no more disrespectful than 'showcasing' the photos of that woman and calling her a "bitch" and referring to her as a "dumb, dead activist" (amongst other things) for having the courage of her convicitions.

Disrespect will be responded to with disrepect. Those cowards who dish it out should be prepared to take it.
