    Help Please!! Password files being hacked):

    Ok, so I lurk here more often than I post...but I'm in desperate need of someone that can help me like 10 minutes ago :-)

    I use CCbill, just got off the phone with them and it's not their problem.

    My password protection files have somehow been accessed and some F#cker has used the same IP addy and logged in with nearly every username/pass that is in my password protection files. This caused the protection to kick in and now all my members are suspended.

    I know I need to block his IP addy and then restore all my users, which I think is done in the .htaccess file, but I need expertise help.

    My host company seems unavailable by phone, and like I said -I need help like yesterday.

    If you can help at all, I'd be so appreciative!! Maybe I'll throw in an unreleased exclusive set of pics of content choice or a vid to whomever can help me out

          i can´t help you with your htaccess prob but i can promise you: you need to do much more than simply block this IP.

          your site got a hole through which every experienced cracker could get in and steal your passes again.

          you should immedialy call a security firm

              First change the password to get into that file, then write your members that you may have to issue new usernames and passwords and please be patient most are cool if they know whats going on. cc bill said its not their problem, if its their password software, they should help. Had a problem like that ibill got right on it.

                      Also who is your hosting company that you cant reach them by phone in the middle of the day?

                          I HAVE Password Sentry, and thats how they got in....thats why CCBill said it's not their problem.

                          I've changed the admin login for my PS software, but now I just need to stop this fucker and then figure out how he got in and fix it. First time this has happened to me in over a year with this password protection and ccbill):

                                  How could they get in from passwordsentry? All they would have is a bunch of usernames and no passwords. I would talk to the password sentry people I think cc bill is passing the buck.

                                      I use AmateurHosting and they have been awesome with help in the past and with uptime. I had host nightmares in the past and so I don't have issues with them. But yes, I got their answering service and left a message ......

                                              See I would never get hosting from a company called Amatuer Hosting , its like would you put your money in a bank called Amatuer Financial lol.

                                                          You need to speak to the guy at passwordsentry then you need to speak to Mike at Webair to sort out some proper hosting. Sounds like you are having *real* problems if this guy has free access to your password script.

                                                              He must have been able to download your .htpasswd file to get all the ID's. THis happened to a buddy of mine, he had his named auth.txt and it got downloaded and 300 ID's cracked.
