When I was in Iraq in '91.... as I assume is the situation currently... there are no newspapers, television, GFY messageboards, or otherwise. We had no fucking idea whether or not anyone was backing us or not. One of the greatest worries was that we would come home, as was the case with Vietnam, only to be spit on by our own people. We didn't fear death in combat. We feared disownment by our own people.

When I finally got home and saw everything that everyone did in support of us..... it made it all worthwhile.

So stanstupid... wake the fuck up. Just because I'm not contributing 4 million to someone's family does not mean I'm not supportive. By the way, where's YOUR fucking support Mr Moneybags? Why don't you just fuck the fuck off already.

Support our guys people. Any way you can. It means more to them than anything else just to know you're behind them. Even if that's a fucking ribbon on your stinking tree, a flag on your house, a pin on your shirt, or a banner on your site. When they get home, it will help them as they readjust. Trust me on this one.

and if you ever run into a combat vet.... the best thing you could ever do is sit down, buy him a beer, and just listen.

No matter if you support the reasons for the war or oppose it, soldiers are already dying.. they deserve support and respect.

For those that oppose war no matter what, may I remind you that firstly the soldiers do not choose to go to war, the politicians do and secondly may I remind you that soldiers don't just fight.. how many times have soldiers (from many countries) gone the the other side of the world to save lives? Not just the lives that will be saved when a dictator is deposed.. think about natural disasters such as earthquakes which kill thousands and always soldiers are sent out to save lives.. to search for survivors and prevent even bigger human tragedies.. maybe one day to save your life..

Support the war or not, that is your choice.. but you should support the people that are out there risking their lives..

How you show your support is a personal matter, but fighting with someone on a board over a banner he made to show support, that you can use or not use as you choose, is just pathetic..

Its kind of like the police.. everyone hates them until you need them to save your ass and then you can't call for them fast enough..
