Desert Storm II: The Sequel (is boring)

So far I'm very disappointed with the production value and story development of this war. It's boring......DS I was much more interesting.

Is anything interesting going to happen anytime soon? There's hardly been any combat. From what I hear, many Iraqis are surrending without even attacking (we can thank the French for teaching them well). It's complete shit. If it's going to cost the country $100B, we ought to get our money's worth. Bring it on. Let's roll!!

Shit, with a war like this, who needs sleeping pills?

Or maybe one in which France didn't sell Iraq a nuclear reactor. Or one in which France and Russia didn't continue arming Iraq even after the Gulf War I.

Why is it that everyone seems to forget the French, Russian and German role in arming Saddam which continued after the U.S. stopped.

BTW....when we armed Saddam it didn't seem like a completely stupid idea. Iran took over our embassy, actively sponsored terrorism against us, and was a hotbed of anti-American Islamo-fascism. Why wouldn't their enemy be our ally at the time? There have been far stranger bedfellows throughout history.

Shit, we were allies with the Soviet Union in WWII. That's the funny way geo-politics works. Often times alliances are based on convenience.

Of course they sold stuff to Saddam, the US had been doing it since Reagan and right the way through with Bush's presidency. If you're talking in numbers, Germany has given them the most. My reference should have also stated "the technical know how"... that of course came from the US, it's not just giving them the bombs that is the problem... the US, prior to Iran and the Kurds, had taught Iraqi scientists, how to develop and accurately distribute that chemical and biological warfare that George W refers to.

Russia and France only supplied them with the bombs, it was the US who supplied detailed information along with the arms and about how to use them against their enemy, specifically Iran.

The reporters are an important tool used by the Bush government. It's actually quite smart to add that human side of the war for the people back home. Do you think that there are any reporters with any military; that are in a mission with a specific purpose? not a chance.

Well we damn well better do it this time.

Two points have risen since they started bombing.

1. If Bush doesn't get Saddam right away, this will give Saddam enough time to use his so called "Weapons of Mass Destruction".

2. If there is no weapons of mass destruction, and as some conspiracy theorists believe, Bush might just have to create some terrorism himself to prove it.

Not sure here, but I beleibe 130 km max. Kuwait is less than 40 km away ... Who the hell knows ... but no chemical yet...
