Newbie Guide To TGP's - Everything Ive Learned

It depends on a LOT of things. Primarily, the size of he pages you're sending. Also, if you have things running in the background that say, spider and check galleries to weed out the shit, that's gonna eat up the BW too. Also, you're not even considering the number of pages that each user views. If you're pumping out your blind link trading like you're talking about, that's a page or two a person before they get pissed off or are clicking somewher else. Or, you could be nice, and they end up viewing 20 pages each on average. # of uniques alone doesn't say much at all about amount of BW that you use.

But using the said "formula to success" all i have is a 100kb page with a trade script.

Since we established scripts are server side, we can do our math based on hits by kb (im assuming)


Id really like someone to correct my math, and/or process of coming up with $5k per month estimated bandwidth charges .... because that puts a bad scare into me.

The "key" to what I'm saying is that you said "long term".
The PK's etc. success had a bit to do with timing - being there "then". But it can still be done, it's just going to take longer than it did in the late 90's. I think "sticking to" doing things right is one thing those people will tell you has kept them on top.

300kb x 300,000 = 90,000,000kb = 90gigs/day x $0.59 = $53.10/day x 31 days = $1593.00

Those numbers also depend on what kind of hosting... virtual, dedicated, or co-lo.

Then again you could research properly if really seeking to get closer to a point where you can run a TGP more cost effectively and easily find a few hosts that work with shared hosting at no more than 6 persons per server and charge 0.47 and under per GB on plans that cost under $100... some be under $80

Dedicated can get you much cheaper bandwidth costs overall, but you need make more money to cover the static monthly server rental, or colo fees, to make for EFFECTIVE per GB cost to get below 0.50... implies you also need be doing a heap of GB to reap the per GB bandwidth savings

<b>PS.</b> If you're really sneaky & know how to design a clever website you can find an inexpensive host for the scrupt code & database running and a host that has <u>STATIC</u> hosting plans @ under 0.40/GB [<font color="aqua">most start at under a $25 base hosting plan fee with no setup costs</font>] and find that you can intergrate the two sites.

<b>1)</b> You can have the scrupts & database running your sites and referencing image/movie content from the static host.

<b>2)</b> You can design a fully dynamic site on the fully enabled web host & have it automatically upload dynamically generated,(<font color="aqua">but now static</font>) pages to the static host say once per 12 hours or per day if you wished etc..... If your site were to say it updated daily you could just upload daily,[<font color="yellow">to fake a dynamic site even if on static host you could have a JEVASCRUPT code banner rotator written into the pages</font>]

<b>3)</b> You could be realllllly clever and create a fully dynamic site on the fully enabled web host, automatically have these pages converted to a JEVASCRUPT code format & have them then automatically uploaded to the static host, say once per 12 hours, or per day, if you wished..... Then you run the basic scrupt for link codes on the fully enabled host but all the content <u><b>AND</b></u> the webpages themselves are loaded in though JEVASCRUPT code from the static host, just appearing to the surfer that they belong to that exact domain, on the fully enabled host,(<font color="yellow">when really they belong to your subdomain which is pointing to the static host</font>)

<font color="#ccff66">What's all this mean... Well it means quite simply that you could be running a fully enabled tradable TGP with just 1 low cost base plan from a fully enabled quality host and all extra bandwidth be just 0.40/GB from the static host..... Since the fully enabled isn't really serving any traffic, a minimum account for under 15GB should suffice very comfortably for most decent to large size TGP sites.</font>

Just because I have now shared one clever way to save a buck does not mean anyone will get rich unless they are already capable of turning a buck, or are close to it and just need lower bandwidth costs.... You still need to know how to convert that surfer, or have them become a bookmarker, to come back another day... even if you can never get to convert them, if you treat them well you could simply have them making money for you via alternate means.. ie. referring friends that may convert, to help you with trades via clicking some trade links,(<font color="yellow">blind or knowingly</font>) or by the simple fact that high number of bookmarkers on a nice looking site, that isn't giving it ALL away, or full of popups, can inspire advertisers to pay you nice $$$ to buy some banner spots on your site ...... Play with low traffic & get a high ROI,(<font color="#ccff66">Return On Investment</font>) before forking out major money on high numbers of traffic that you might simply burn up all your money on,.. cost of the uniques + cost of bandwidth can kill off both the newbie and the experienced if they don't have many reserves of cash & didn't plan well enough.

umm... yeah right. How many people can seriously pull that much from gallery submitting? At $25/sale, that's 6.5 sales per day. You'd have to submit very fresh content, and buy a lot of your spots.

From what I've seen, nobody is going to get to that level with the "build, submit, build, submit, etc..., hope you get listed" method.

First of all you shoul dnot be paying rental fees or any of that otehr bullshit to get a dedicated server. MOst host will give you one at no cost provided you push a min 500gb/mth or whatever.

Alll this jabber about b/w is a waste of time. No matter what you do you will be profitable - you will not burn more b/w than you make sales. The only way you will do this is with movie galleries done wrong. pic galleries, tgps, other free sites = peanuts in b/w.

There is no way around the inevitable. It takes relentless learning and effort to make it in this biz. Most of this biz is simple and easy - you get out of it what you put into it.

Most intelligent ,hard working, personable, dynamic thinking people are capable of this if not more. If you buy spots then you should be making $10k/mth at least.

Most people lack these characteristics. That is why most people are noobs. Thank god.

wow. it amazes me all the different things people do. I'm not saying this is bad, only that I can't imagine building a complete site for less than $50,000.

although, I must admit that my newest site (also a DVD site) is going up for about $10K. But that's in large part to the fact that I already build most of the infrastructure, the new site is only a product site. Most of that 10K is for the cam and the duplicator.

Well i guess you are right.

So far on my 20k tgp looks like im avg'ing over $1.2k per month.

This includes money from email panels, FTC $1 signups, advertising, selling my clicks to spotbrokers, and AP pics on bottom of page.

Again i dont have the cash right now to test it, but if i had 300k a day, i imagine the numbers MIGHT be near 10x this.

Even if its at a low 7x this, that is still almost $9k

Im sure this is low because i dont do any real promoting on my TGP, and even if i did, i suck at it, lol
