Cybernet Expo is an *excellent* convention to attend if you're a newbie. It's not loud and overwhelming like Internext, but there are still the major players there so you can get a lot of great networking in. Lots of places to sit down and talk and do business, open-forum seminars (where you can ask questions and get answers rather than being lectured to or listening to one big advertisement), and of course tons of parties to give you a feel for the more "fun" end of the business.
Take business cards and give them to everyone you talk to, get one from them... write notes on the back of the business card so that when you get home you can remember specifics about the person who gave it to you.
Involve yourself in as much as you can while you're there, completely immerse yourself in the convention - you won't be disappointed.Comment

If you or your company want to sponsor get in contact with me ! This will be great exposure. Montreal has too great of a night life to try to throw a hotel suite party or stay in one club !
If you are coming across the border I would not bring anything !
I do not smoke but some say Quebec grows some of the best weed in the world, so I would'nt bring that !
Montreal has a huge rave scene so x, k, g, c, and speed are easy to find !

For some reason Montreal webmasters meet and have fun together ! I was in New York last month and it was like pulling teeth to get a small get together. Most of them said they did'nt want to go out because it was snowing............ There can be 3 feet of snow in Montreal and people still go out !
