    Manchester Parks ... help!

I'm looking for a nice park close the city centre of Manchester. I know of Heaton Park but it's a little out of the way... are there any parks a little closer to the city centre? I'm talking about the Dale Street / Lever Street / Newton Street area.

It's a long shot, but worth a try. Thanks.

    Define 'nice' ;)

    Nice to buy drugs?
    Nice to find a whore?
Nice to walk through without looking over your shoulder?

Big park or small? A place with grass a trees and not much else or something with sports fields, lakes etc?

There's whitworth park, platt fields, chorlton park, 'the meadows' (alongside the mersey) etc.

Some of the nicest parks are often overlooked. Cemeteries.

Heaton Park is still the best.

          Fantastic afternoon.
