Raven has been informed by his freaks that Greenguy and his followers are seriously thinking about making webmasters pay a fee to submit their feeders regardless of whether they're accepted or not. Not only that we have fork out $600 per feeder submitted to Yahoo and $100 to $200 per feeder submitted to the other SE, now LL want to bilk us also. WTF!
What's this business of charging a fee to get listed on LL

It truly amazes me that people post without reading the entire thread over on Netsurprise about this.

At least 3 times I said that yes, I have considered the idea, but that I have no plans what-so-ever to put the "pay per submit" procedure into place.
I think that in the future, yes, alot of link sites will be charging for reviews just like alot of TGP's are charging for submit or higher placements - and I wouldn't blame Tommy one bit for charging, as I've seen the amount of submits he gets every day & I've seen how his traffic converts.Comment

I surprized greenguy DOESN'T CHARGE for links - he has awesome traffic and MOST people WOULD GLADLY pay for it.This dog, is dog, a dog, good dog, way dog, to dog, keep dog, an dog, idiot dog, busy dog, for dog, 20 dog, seconds dog!
Now read without the word dog.Comment

Now that this has finally put to rest, we can now sleep soundly.
But could you imagine if this paying for submissing went thru and 100's of LL followed. Even at $10.00 per year per feeder per LL, most of us would be in the red....

Just an advice...
Too much sites listed on greenguy... damn 700 for the teen category!
You should either accept only the best free sites... or charge for a listing...

I agree with wired guy - There are a buttload of TGPs and Thumb Previews that have incorporated a fee to acquire the top heavy hit spots. Look at Cyber Cats solution as well for top ten listings. (5k-10k+ for that solution per month)
I've seen first hand how the link list traffic from Green Guy and Tommy's converts vs. heavy TGP traffic - I would pay for a top spot for sure - It's like going to the ATM.
Business is business folks - Lets say you run a site with traffic that converts pretty much anything you throw at it with a 1/150+ ratio - are you going to give it away for free forever... or are you going to try and make a few bucks for all the time and effort it took to build it up to the point it is today.

They come and go though, if a page hasn't been modified in 6 months, it gets dropped from GG's list. Keeps the sites fresh and the surfers coming back if they don't join the sponsors or even if they do.Originally posted by xxxdesign-net

On TGP when you pay, your guaranty of getting your galleries/thumbs accepted. On the other hand, from what we heard so far, LL paid submissions would be like those SE submissions (i.e. you pay but your feeder may not get accepted). Big difference between those two....

Simple answer is don't build crap. Fortunately most LL's including the big guys kept their business hats on and realised people build to make money and need to advertise unlike many of the TGP's out there. I never have problems getting listed with GG as he has sensible rules that are easy enough to follow. I would imagine the only reason for rejecting a paid sub would be simply that it's total crap.Originally posted by Quoth the Raven

DrewKole summed it up for me. This IS a business and it's just a shame more people don't realise that from some of the big 'players' downwards.Comment

So you really think that if you pay for listing at a TGP & then submit to them a FPA with no pics, that they'd list it?Originally posted by Quoth the Raven
