I found out I have tmj disorder at the age of 25 and I am now 39. I can tell you all about it. I have a very rare case with arthritis in my jaw joints and mucsle damage to my head and neck.
1. You need to see an dentist that specializes in the disorder to see if your bite is correct.
2. a splint that they make for you will take the pressure off your jaw at night and let your muscles heal.
IF you are a grinder, a dentist can determine that you do grind. It is a myth that everyone that has tmj disorder grinds. I don't grind.
It is also a myth that it is just a stress disorder. Sometimes just get braces will correct the majority of the symptoms of tmj disorder.
I am going out of town til tomorrow night but feel free to email me at
