    So who's at the TOP of the Pyramid here?

    Click-Thru sites are obviously a very complicated multi layered form of a rather elaborate MLM type business plan. How long have those at the top been there and is anyone in the middle actually making money here?

    It seems the guy at the bottom just gets his bandwidth turned up a few thousand notches to fuel traffic for those in the middle who eventually direct that traffic to those at the very top.

    Analysing the logs of another site that will remain unnamed it was determined that from the 300mb-500mb of daily server logs that the traffic all appeared to come from the same few places thus inflating the bandwidth to make the site appear to have 10's of thousands of visitors a day which really wasn't the case.

    So what gives here.

    (Yes, with respect to this I am a newbie).

    How does anyone make money here or is this a dead oversaturated market?

          Are there any real stats available as far as traffic vs payouts, etc?

          If so, where can these be found, and have they been audited by a respected accounting firm?

                          There is an interesting challenge! Which sponsors would be willing to have their affiliate operation and payout accuracy audited and certified by a respectable accounting firm?

                          Why shouldn't there be some level of certification of accuracy in this biz -- like a "stats-accuracy rating system" ?

                          That would be fascinating just to see who would allow an audit of their systems and who wouldn't

                                              Lightspeed has a good point.

                                              The site I was speaking of was getting 15-30K a day in apparently unique visits as per the counter systems that the TGP sites use. However upon examination of the logs, all the traffic was coming from the same few IP's.

                                              I've never seen anything like this and cannot see the true benefit of it except for the server hosting systems that will bill the customer and make huge profits from the bandwidth charges and the odd adult site that gets a few signups from the 100'000s of visitors.

                                              I do notice that there are a lot of sites offering hosting for these TGP's.

                                                      I bet there isn't a pay per signup program on the net that could or would do that.

                                                      Now partnership programs, many if not most of them could probably do it. But pay per signup... well let's just put it this way: There's a reason most partnership programs provide access straight to the processors stats, and there's a reason no pay per signup program on earth provides access to processor stats.

                                                      Hint: it isn't a technical dilemma.
