Firstly, you've ignored that statistics about gun deaths in this country since we got rid of semi-automatic weapons.
That doesn't surprise me, but you don't understand that we don't pull guns on people in this country. If you have a problem with someone you may have to sort it out with your fists but that's usually as far as it goes.
We don't have drive-by shootings here. We don't even have people on the streets holding out empty polystyrene coffee cups begging for money.

I'm not denying your statistics... Did you miss the "bat" part? Now look up your violent crime per capita for ALL weapons etc in OZ. Point being, if someone wants you dead, they WILL kill you. A gun just makes it easier in some cases.
Do the same for a country such as Japan where guns have been banned for years as well. It will be alot more 'inline' with US crime stats than you'll care to believe.
