A possible way to stop shaving
1- get a digital camera, and take picture of all the process
2- get 10 people in the same room with a credit card and a computer
3- setup a virgin affiliate account on a sponsor
4- send bullshit traffic (proxies/hitbot) to the sponsors join page
5- each people in the room sign-up on the sponsor site using is cc (using proxies or different ip adress, whatever)
6- enter the paysite with each new account (to test it really worked)
7- check your affiliates stat, you will see if the sponsor shaved you or not
8- repeat the operation using different sponsors
9 - post the fucking results on GFY and send those fuckers out of business (with all picts + screenshot)
im thinking the internext is a good place to test it
its time to stop the scammers

Clearly this could be detected (proxy first red flag) and as stated in previous responses to the thread, in vilolation of your sponsors TOS. In away it is cheating the sponsor. Does another wrong make a right.
I think what needs to happen is for the industry to mature a bit. Maybe that is the growing pains we're going through. By maturing I mean stronger industry trade organizations, that could have a good of conduct and perhaps include a standarized contract that make a commitment to that code. A sponsor either agrees to use the standard contract or not. Would be a selling point to affiliates.
That contract would include (among other things) an agreement for blind testing by an industry trade association. With any profits from testiing returned the sponsor.
The $35 join payouts, obviously may make a sponsor feel the need to shave. I must say that my revshare accounts seem to have the same conversions as the pay per join.
