At what point does music officially become an "oldie"?

does it go by decade? Seems like stuff gets shelved for a few years into a new decade, and then all the sudden, a radio station will start playing stuff from 'the 80's' or 'the 90's', focusing only on a specific decade.... but then, when does it become 'oldies'? 3 decades later? 4? Or is the term 'oldies' reserved for only the 50's & 60's stuff?

As soon as you hear it on the Radio, it is an "oldie"

it becomes an 'oldy' when you're standing in an elevator or supermarket and the instrumental "MUSAC" version is playing

            that's good....

or maybe when you see it on TV late night, in one of those "Get All The Hot Hits, like Boy George!" (play small Boy George clip here) "For only $5.99! BUT WAIT! Call Now and Get All 9 Blazin' CDs For Just $19.99 PLUS A Subscription To Bad Music Monthly!"

that's really when you know it's fucking old. The evil compilation CDs.

              just like cars.

'classic' is like 10 - 20 years. Then 'antique' i guess could be 20 + like cars, oldies, could be considered antiques.
