DOS question -- how to change to a directory with spaces...

Fuck if XP doesn't use the old ~1, ~2, etc. convention of Win95... How do I change to this directory?

    <DIR> black stockings outside

I need to get in there to do some shit!

I blame Macintosh for these long ass filenames...

thats easy, let say you wanna get in to Documents and Settings

              you do

              c: enter

              now you at

              C:\>

              you do the following

              C:\>cd D "click on TAB"

and it will auto go in to

              C:\>cd "Documents and Settings" enter

              done.

I don't think so... try it...

                  03/14/2003 12:23 PM <DIR> black stockings studio

                  03/11/2003 07:46 PM <DIR> cheerleader

95 used to let you keep the short filename convention as an option... anyway if they made this change they should have at least annotated it in "ch /?"

Where are you? I'm at the dos prompt (command.com)... Are you in the GUI? You can't do "rename whatever*.* blah*.*" from the windows interface...
