Worst designs on amateur sites!

My vote goes to http://www.crystal8teen.com/
The colours used make it look extremely unsexy, cold even. The black & white could make it look artistic, however, the lack of design and artistic photos takes away that possibility entirely. There is absolutely nothing on the site encouraging the surfer to join or even telling what's in the members area.

The reason this site gets my vote is not just the design, but also that several things on it suggest that the site was not made by her but rather by someone posing as a "pro". A shame, since it's a pretty hot girl.

I'll pass on posting 'em... I'm not the best designer in the world, so I don't have alot of room to talk... I'm just saying that it's not that bad.

Re: it being obvious that she didn't design it, though... Isn't it safe to assume that if the girl's site is any good, then she'd be able to make the natural progression towards outsourcing things as her budget would allow. I think that nowadays, if you see an amateur girl site that still looks like it did 2-3 years ago, then as a surfer, I'd think it must suck if they don't try and make it better as they can.

she asked me to look at her site and tell her why she had no sign ups
well at the first time i saw it - I told her to scrap it and start again
but she didnt wanna dfo that
in the original pics she was wearign denim jeans.. she said she didnt want ppl to see her nude on the tour coz ppl wouldnt sign up ..dont ask me how that logic works.

I told her they werent signing up coz the Join button was hidden!
so they added one..along with abotu 10 million other things.

this site gives me a headache just to look at it

lazy whoever designed it. it is an odd choice to go with black and white photos but it does give it some uniqueness in a sea of amateur girl sites that look the same. they weren't using their creativity, if all the B & W images on that tour on mouseover turned into colored images they'd have something interesting, the surfer would mouse over each picture, people are very simple creatures, they love mouseovers, they'll run their mouses over anything once they see there are mouseover image changes - and the more they stay involved on the page, the better chance they will keep exploring, hopefully joining the site.

i'm designing an amateur teen site right now, it ain't easy to be creative with that niche, you feel like you have to stick to the basic design cliches these sites have developed. I tried orange and black color scheme to be different but i looked at it for a long while and it just doesn't look 'teen' or 'amateur', looks too mainstream and hip.

SO FILL UP THE PINK AND BLUE PAINT BUCKETS AND GET ME THE GROOVY FLOWER DINGBAT FONT I'M GOING FULL STEAM AHEAD RIGHT INTO AMATEUR TEEN DESIGN HELL!!!

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!
