First off, let me say I think this is a bad idea from a good businessman. If you wanna comment on it, read and absorb what I have to say.
No, I don't have any reviews. That's not what this is about. However, this page certainly isn't about traffic quality either.
I'm not gonna take any dog piling on this one, so if you ppl reading this don't like what I say, then that's your prerogative just like stating this is mine.
Ok, with that said lets get to the part about why I think this is a bad idea.
This is a bad idea for so many reasons I don't even know where to begin.
1) Lot of people don't even know what the hell they're buying. I have people who buy Geo/IP and call it "generic" or "404". People ask me all they can use their own description for my 404 traffic, or if I have any clicked exit traffic for sale or that they want exit popunder. How am I going to let these people review my traffic when they don't even know what they're buying?
2) They're site converts at 1:500. This traffic doesn't come close. That right there makes it shit traffic in 90% of buyers minds. I have large clients who when I start asking them about retention, conversion and CB ratio, they have not a clue what I'm talking about or how to get and use that data. If someone tells me this traffic is converting for their site at 1:10,000, they're usually pissed when they say it.
What? Lemme see, the traffic converts at 1:10/k, cost them say $30.00, they retain on average for 2.5 and their membership is $29.00, how is that junk traffic?
90% of buyers have no idea what to do with traffic, it converts at say 1:10,000, garbage in their mind, and most of them don't even have numbers to work against.
Then reviews like, productivity was OK, but he sent 90% Brazilian traffic". HELLO ! That's what he sells, but that review makes it look like the client feels ripped off because he got Brazil. That's what he bought !
A client of mine told me today that this site was built to make Choker look better. He told me that Choker's traffic wasn't any good. Wait, what? I use it myself, it works great for me. Know why? I know what to do with it. This client has been with me for a year, and he obviously knows what to do with my traffic.
Just because he doesn't know what to do with chicken traffic and *thinks* it's just crap, sure as hell doesn't make it true.
Another review, "Not a good deal for the money. I will not buy again." . What makes it so? I personally know that traffic is decent. What did that guy do with it? DID he buy clicked, or was it exit? Did he buy anything ? Maybe, maybe not. Where did he send it?
In conclusion, and I could go on and on.. This site has nothing at all to do with traffic quality really, except maybe from the 10% who are qualified to intelligently comment on traffic.
This site ONLY has to do with the way individuals feel they're qualified to handle bought traffic. The traffic they purchase is only as good at the are qualified to handle it. 90% of buyers are not.
Didn't even take into consideration all of the people I could contact to go in and give me all 10's and maybe give Pat all 1's, the people who never bought anything, or the people who just want to create a review, or the people who are pissed for one reason or another.
Ok. Flame me, I'm sure no other brokers care to post, but I've talked to some of them. This isn't a positive thing in some people's opinion.

I admit I do have other motives for doing this (later not yet) but to make me look better is DEFINATELY not one of them. I will include everyone who sells traffic, I will not sell spots or edit reviews(unless if they just make no sense at all)
Like you I realize that many buyers do not understand what they are doing. but when each traffic brokers has 100 plus reviews, don't you think the reviews will averge out enough to give a buyer going to this page a general feel of each broker? I am open to ideas on this page |
