hmm my stupid 52X burner won't burn at 52X

    hmm my stupid 52X burner won't burn at 52X

    It can only burn at 32X, but i AM using 8X cds... anyone know why? maybe cause of this?

    probably your computer is too slow. it might be related to the cds, but i've never had a problem over-burning speeds on discs. what's your system?

      It is due to the Blank CD. I have a 40x. One batch of cd from one supplier goes at 32x, another supplier's stuff 40x.
      I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

      But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

        1gz AMD, 512ddr, 13ggi drive (i was gonna get a 80 or 100gig today, but they were B/O)
        It's probably due to the media tho.. I have to call monday and cry abit

          that's not bad, but not great. a 52x burner needs to cram quite a bit of data through there. not only that, a 13gb drive may not be technologically advanced enough to push that bandwidth. try the cd's first, but have you tried a speed test with your system? nero and roxio i think both have those built in, i'd try it. you might be limited by your hardware.

            yeah, everyones telling me its the CDs... next HD is an ATA 133... 7200 liquid bearing one... is good

                I buy high speed discs and mine burn at 48x.... not sure if it's really worth the added cost of the discs though....

                    lol you got it wrong, my current 13gig is a 5400rpm, I getting a few Maxtor 7200rpms... 8meg cache, ATA 133, liquid bearing.. (ultra quiet)
