    Merchant Account Sources?

I need a merchant account, the shopping cart I will be using is set up to be compatible with these gateways below. If you are using any of them and are satisfied or unhappy with them I'd appreciate your advice. I checked out Authorize.NET because they seem to one of the biggest, but they're just a processing gateway, they don't provide the merchant account, want you to go set one up with a reseller, seems stupid to me. Before I go visit every one of these sites does anybody know if any of these do both - provide a merchant account AND the processing gateway?

    Thanks

I noticed Paypal on that list and will use them for people who prefer to use Paypal - that's if B2B accounts that are adult industry related are still allowed after their announcement today.
According to one person who made a phonecall to Paypal, designers, content seller, programmer etc working in adult should still be ok to use Paypal.

But i'm after just a straight merchant account/payment gateway setup for people who just want to whip out their own credit card. I'd go straight to Netbilling or any of the adult third party processors who will provide a gateway since they are in this industry but they're not included on this list of compatible payment gateways.

i think you should go with netbilling

i'd feel more comfortable with company thats in the know more
            especially the adult business

don't go with paysystems, there transactions aren't even real time, they manually review each transaction which takes like 48 hours not to mention they got itchy trigger finger to withhold funds

They sure do.... and they call clients a week or two later to see if they received the merchandise orservice. WWhen I was with them, I had bought an item to see that everything was fine. They called me at home two weeks later... Nice if the wife of a client answer....

                  greentea,

that's great, yes I have decided to use X-Cart and if there is a module for Netbilling that is where i will go. Did they tell you how long until the module is ready?

X-Cart looks great, only thing i am worried about is that on one content providers site who uses X-Cart it seems slow. Not sure if it was X-Cart's fault or a problem with the server it's on.

                  thanks

we're using authorize.net and find that they're good at whatever they're doing for us

anyway, no problems with them, but netbilling seems to be a good choice as well

and did Authorize.net set you up with a merchant account? All I see on their site relating to a merchant account is a page with a list of resellers, some who will help get you a merchant account. I don't want to use a reseller, if u click on them some of them look disturbingly Mickey Mouse.

                      thanks

mutt, to problem with the merchants is the amount you are able to do transactions, if you don't have a solid merchant history it can be tough for a merchant to give a high limit,

if need some help i can refer you to couple that i have worked with

                            Mutt,

it seems like you have everything figured out, but I know Paymentech has both MAs and a gateway.

They have pretty good rates on the merchant discount.
                            I am hiring.

thanks for all the info everybody.

no there are no URLs with that list of gateway providers, i am just typing them in based on those names.

Netbilling is where I will go if this module is going to be ready soon for the shopping software. I'll check out Paymentech now.

                                Hi Mutt,

We can surely assist you with the merchant account acquisition as well as all of the processing services? Just to let you know, OScommerce will have the Netbilling module done this weekend. That cart is free I believe and very powerful.
Mansion productions is also finishing a custom cart for Falcon foto that works exclusively with Netbilling as well. There are many other options including our Free cart as well.

Please contact us tomorrow and we will get you started.

CardService International offers both merchant account and gateway. The gateway....LinkPoint. If you're looking to use the Authorize.net gateway, I'd give them a ring first. For a while there, they stopped doing anything adult. I'm not sure what their current stance is. CardService will take adult business all day long. If you plan on using the NetBilling system (which is highly recommended) you won't need to get an additional gateway. The CardService merchant account works seamlessly w/ the NetBilling system.

We have Cardservice accounts and use Netbilling to process them. Netbilling actually set us up with the merchant accounts so we did not need to deal with a reseller. We also have offshore accounts with Netbilling as well. Forget Authorizenet. or Linkpoint. Both are a joke and have terrible fraud scrubbing and reporting. We use Verotel for 900 and they are ok too.

8% for adult biz merchant account? I can hook you up with someone who can get you a merchant account for half that with no reserve up front and no bullshit.

Cardservice is shying away from adult because they're so afraid of the $25k Visa fines for sites not in compliance.

Anyone want to buy a slightly used Linkpoint AIO terminal?

Cardservice is shying away from adult because they're so afraid of the $25k Visa fines for sites not in compliance.

Anyone want to buy a slightly used Linkpoint AIO terminal?
Actually, we setup merchants with Cardservice almost daily.
