I started playing E & B a few weeks ago and it's ok. Sort of sucks in many aspects. SWG looks much better. SWG states not only ship play but also first shooter type action as well as owning stores and what not and building land based communities. It's a tag team with Lucas arts and Sony/Everquest developers so it seems to ahve a lot of potential.Originally posted by G Sharp

This game looks bad ass! I applied for beta too but never got an answer. Anyone already know what species and profession they are gonna be yet? I am gonna go with a Mon Calamari Droid Engineer and then when the space expansion comes out hopefully move to Ship Engineer. Already thinking of a forming a smugglers guild.... jeez this game is gonna be the best.

Saw the demo for this at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Indianapolis last May. They had it up on a giant screen and the guy doing the demo was a Bothan running around on Tattooine. Looked cool as hell. Graphics are top notch.
Cool thing is you can't just start out as Jedi Knight. If you could then that is all there would be running around in the game. They said you have to do certain combinations of things to be able to become a Jedi. Should make things interesting.
How many people are going to go hunting a Krayt Dragon as soon as they get to Tattooine?
Going to be a lot of corpses in the desert!

From the people I talked to that also applied for beta and have expercience being betas for games like EverQuest and AO etc. In other words more or less across the board gamers for most online multi player games. A lot of consideration from what I hear is placed, when selecting betas, on what system you use, video cards, sound cards, chips etc. From what I hear in beta they want to involve the most users with a broad spectrum of hardware so as to test compatibility over multiple platforms. From there they look for the people with the most beta experience etc. So in other words if you have a P4 with a G-Force 4 you are going to be in the bulk of applicants. If you have some off the wall hardware, or low end stuff, you have a better chance I guess so as to test how the game works on differnt systems.Originally posted by Mecca-X

When Everquest came out I played that for 2 years. When EQ came out I was making 20000 Bucks a month, when I finally stopped playing I was at 5000 a month. I've been beta testing for SWG since the first round of like 250 people, the game has come a long way since then but still needs a lot of work. Don't hold your breath waiting for it in April.
