actually it's different stuff. stronger than what the police are allowed to use on humans.
regardless, most bear attacks can be avoided if you are armed with knowledge. very
good book on the subject, written by a bear expert who does research in the same are i live part-time, Banff National Park.
in the revised edition, they do the first study of how well spray deterrence works. very good results with Grizzlies. Reduced effect on Black Bears however.
