    My Achillies tendon scar

    It's been 2 1/2 months since my surgery. My Achilles tendon completely ruptured in December (playing intramural football) and my leg has taken a beating. My foot was all bruised up and looked a lot worse. It is healing nicely though. I was in a few solid casts and I finally got out of the 'walking cast' a week ago. The scar is 3.5" long.

    Thought I'd share my picture with you all. It's kind of gross and cool at the same time!

    SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

      You think that's something? I was born with clubbed feet and had to wear casts on my legs until I was 6 years old. I'll post a pic when I find one. My scar is at least twice that!

          Post it! We'll have a scar war!

          My other leg near my ankle has a big scar as well... from my 4-wheeling accident a few years ago. Talk about s-e-x-y!

              Glad to see you're recovering. Have you started therapy yet? I've had 2 run ins with PT's and they were both hotties. It's not fun, but that sure helps.

              In the pain department...how did that all rate? I've broken bones and seen people rupture an achilles, there's an obvious difference in the pain.

                  I had only 6 sessions of PT. All of the chicks were hot! I think that's a prerequisite to being a physical therapist. I'm back to 100% flexibility and now I'm working on strength training on my own and biking at the gym. I'll be stopping back to check in with the hotties to make sure I'm doing okay.

                  As for the pain, when my Achilles tendon snapped it felt kind of like getting hit on the funny bone and sounded like a racquet ball getting hit. It didn't hurt too bad then. It hurts more right now by walking, doing strength excursive, and stretching it.

                      I wore leg weights on my left ankle for two months while my calf built back up. Helps work out the muscle all day.

                          Bahhhh I did not need to see that surgery

                          I did this very same thing a few years ago and wow what a painful recovery. Far worse than any broken bone could ever be. Mine sounded like a board breaking. But if I hadn't done it I wouldn't be doing what I do now I suppose.
