Lowest today for regular was $1.71 at an Arco.
highest was $2.09 at a Union 76.
Heck.. when I first got my license regular (leaded then) was about 60 cents a gallon. I can remember when I was younger than 6 and they had gas price wars.. gas was 10 cents a gallon.
I remember when it was like 10 cents a gallon, went 2 Germany in the 1960's, bought a VW, and was shocked when I had 2 pay like $ 2.50 per gallon. with care PersianKitty you're telling your age.

I live in a tourist town and the prices are about $.10 higher per gallon than the highest in Atlanta. But I can usually time my fill ups and get them while I'm down there
Amazingly, my Exploder is getting about 18 mpg mixed mountain driving/interstate usage on regular, so I can load it up with people/stuff and end up OK

Normally going for $1.63 - $1.70 for regular, there is one out-of-the-way cheap gas station that has it for $1.55.
I don't even *look* at the premium prices for fear my debit card will melt!

PK, I remember the gas wars too! You could only get gas on certain days and there were certain colors you had to go by for some reason. Was it the color of your car? Or the first letter in your license plate? I remember big red squares and big green squares at the gas stations, and really long, longggggg lines.
Hope it doesn't get like that again - although I read an article that gas stations in Arizona are already running out of gas due to their refineries shutting down so they can switch over to meet some new summer regulations.
everybody jump on the bandwagon... 3 states are already taking this issue to the ftc. they think that gas companies are prematurely inflating prices for the fun of it. they want to knock the prices down, i'm sure there could be a program for us all to get in with and let the ftc know.
