Another south florida guy here, although in my heart ill always be Jersey through and through. but all you guys talking about wilton manors...my aunt is a real estate agent over here in south florida, and she told us that wilton manors is basically the fire island of south florida (not counting key west, of course, which obviously takes the cake). is the gay population really that big there? i dont even know really where w.m. is, she just told me its near lauderdale. just wondering...

Yes .. Wilton Manors has a very large gay population. In fact, I think it is the only city in a america with numerous gay people on the city commission. Its really undergone a huge improvement in the last few years. It used to be sort of a blue-collar area and now its gone quite upscale with the influx of the gay community. A lot of new businesses, restaurants, and housing improvements. The same thing happened with victoria park in east lauderdale a few years earlier. It seems to have had a really positive impact on the neighborhood and property values have gone through the roof.Originally posted by JerseyPuma
