The Vmax has not been changed much since 1985.
This is awesome - name another vehicle that has lasted this long.
Yamaha still sells every single Vmax that is produced.

The Vmax will absolutely spank anything in the 1/8 mile.
The 1/4 mile brings on some wind resistance issues (100mph+)
Bikes like the Suzuki Hayabusa will slice through the wind and beat you in the 1/4 mile.

The Vmax does handle fine, but it is heavy.
Lots of people compare it to a light weight sports bike.
It is more like a cruiser that sports bikes try to catch.

My bike will go from 0 to 150+ with no handling problems.

My bike has NEVER lost a stoplight race.
If you care to try, we ride almost every day in Tampa!
"Those without respect, must be taught..."

My bike does have a few modifications.
It breathes through 4 K&N air filters
Below 3000rpm it draws through one carb per cylinder.
Above 3000rpm it draws through two carbs per cylinder.
(Stock bikes have the Vboost set at 6000 rpm)
This gives you low end torque and high end HP.

My Italian exhaust makes the bike sound like an outlaw V8!

For anyone that loves adrenaline - you gotta try a Vmax at least once in your life. No car will ever give you tunnel vision from the acceleration!

When the Vmax came out in 1985 they called it a "Muscle Bike" and compared it to the Cobra. They put them head to head and of course the Vmax was faster in every test.
