mrthumbs - Sorry to hear about your loss. I have been a cat person all my life. Had 2 cats that both lived to be 12+ years old. They become a part of the family. My current cat is one lucky mofo. He has been stung by scorpions, been hit by a car once, locked in someone's garage for a week while they are on vacation (I thought for sure he was dead somewhere), and even made it home from over 5 miles away and across half a dozen busy streets when I left him at my sister's house while I was on vacation and he got out. I'd freak if my cat died, almost as much as my son. We've had our cat since my son was 3 and now he is 10. He sleeps with him every night. I even let him steal some of my fried chicken every now and then! That darn cat.
Find another cat and fill the empty spot in your house. You'll be glad you did!
It's heartbreaking when that happens-
There are millions of cats and kittens in shelters who need
a home, especially this time of year. I'll bet you'll feel better if you go and save 1 ( or 2 ).
From a fellow cat lover you have my deepest sympathy. Some people do not understand how much your cat becomes such a big part of your life, almost like they are your own children. I wouldn't give up my two girls for the world.
It breaks my heart that he was young, but as others have said, he's now resting peacefully in kitty heaven. I hope your other cat isn't missing his little buddy too much.
Just burried the little guy a few hours ago in the dunes with my gf.
*really* appreciate all your support. makes me feel better
specially since so many of you exactly understand that a cat
isnt just an animal but a personality that really makes a difference
in your life. Just like this board :-)
Why do people declaw their cats? I hate those morons who do that.. if you give him a correct education he wont couse to much trouble with those claws.. would you like to get your fingers cutted? (THIS is for the guy who said his cat died after alergic reaction to a declawing.. )
Sorry to hear your kitty died.. I just got a siamese kitten and i'll be devastated if he dies... BTW I just love sphinx.. !
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I love kitties and dogs and would be adrift without a few of them to keep me company. I do recommend a visit to the local shelter. Even if you don't want to acquire a new pet, they usually love volunteers to help walk the dogs and just spend time petting the animals to keep them socialized. I found it helped a lot after one of our cats died.
I'm so sorry. I recently decided to give my dog to a family friend because I travel so often that he was in a kennel all the time. It is killing me that I don't have him around anymore. Pets truly are a blessing!
He had some virus that paralyzed his body within a week
and had him put to sleep. He was 8 months old and will
be missed
awwwwwwww he's beautiful. Mr.thumbs I'm sorry to hear that
My condolences to you and your gf *hugs*
