ya know........i've seen these mail order bride things on talk shows a bunch of times, they bring the guys out and their foreign brides...... some fine looking bitches that no way in hell these guys could get on their own, some of these guys are not losers totally, they just live in the country and have jobs or lifestyles that don't allow them to do much socializing ....... and the chicks seem to be happy. So even if she does get bored with the guy and they get divorced in a few years - the guy gets some nice poon and company for awhile and it's not much different than most of the marriages out there that fall apart.

I was dating a guy whos best friend had been dumped by his long time girlfriend. My boyfriend at the time was working in a logging camp in Alaska and there were a bunch of mail order bride catalogs floating around. He mailed his buddy one of the catalogs as a joke and said something like "well, if she doesnt come back to you, you can order one of these!" So the fucking guy did it! He went to Russia and met his wife for like 5 minutes and brought her back to Seattle. This guy is good looking, successful etc, he was just feeling unlucky in love. The Russian bride was GORGEOUS and apparently she wanted to fuck all the time. My then ex boyfriend met the Russian bride at the wedding and was impressed so they set him up with her Russian friend and now THEY are married. At first they were all happy but then the girls became pretty Americanized and wanted diamond earrings and pizza every night, lol ;)

Both of the guys were in their early 30's and I think they had an unrealistic ideal of what they wanted in a woman but never found it. actually - a lot of them are scams. but there's also legitimate ones out there. as for big city women ( IE - moscow ) - they say not a good idea. you may end up with the "green card and dump `em" thing. part of their reason for wanting to leave is an old world attitude: if a women is workin' on thirty and isn't married - somethings wrong with you. good russian men also sound like they're in short supply ... lots of divorces.
