Getting tons of consoles and popups from thehun

On every link I click actually..now..I found something installed in my computer called I.Lookup.com which is owned by:

    Domain Name: I-LOOKUP.COM

    Administrative Contact:
    Admin, Domain [email protected]
    P.O. Box WC 960

Does anyone know how to get rid of this crap?

I´ve tried with ad-aware, window washer and jv16 power tools, but nothing is working.

Yep, I had that before. Let me tell ya, it's a pain to get rid of.

Ad-ware doesn't get rid of it entirely, so you have to manually do it.

start your machine in DOS mode and look in the downloaded program files folder to see what you can find, They put an unrecognized character in the filename and now ad-aware or windows doesn't know it is there!!! The only way to see them is to start in dos mode then you can erase the damn thing!!!

              regards,

              strato

Also, check the registry for the start-up files and I bet you will find it there.

You have a browser helper object.

Get a copy of BHO-COP you can download one from Download.com.

After you clean the files out then you can clean the registry. I know my solution works because I got infected the same way a couple weeks ago and pulled my hair out trying to figure it out. Then I started the machine in DOS out of desperation and fell over when I saw 3 different files there that weren't showing up in windows!!!

                  regards,

When I got infected this way I tried ad-aware, bho cop and spybot search and destroy. The only way to get rid of it was by removing the files then cleaning the registry. When you get it cleaned out please stay pissed long enough to go after the guy thru his sponsors. I did and it made me feel a little better.

                    regards,

Seconded. Adaware is outdated crap - Spybot kicks ass.

I got this address opening in a window with every windows startup: http://www.goodsearchplace.com/main1.html

                        I can't remove it with adaware /spybot

You have to download the new Ad-Aware 6 -- They've been updating like crazy now.
