Record labels dipping into the honeypot again

    http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/12/03...b_tariff031203

Sheesh, first they get a percentage of all blank CD/DVD sales and now they're trying to get ISPs to fork over money due to claimed losses due to piracy of music.

Like seriously, if record labels worked on making producing better products (or reducing the MSRP) in of the crap they tend to produce now. Perhaps piracy wouldn't be so bad.

Hell, they're probably raking in more money by claiming they're victims of piracy so we (the public) all should cough up money than direct cd sales ever would.

The recording industry really has become their own worst enemy.

They have choosen to promote "artists" that dont write their own music, dont play instruments, dont really do anything than have the ability to be molded into what the record company marketing thinks is a good idea.

These "artists" have a massive staff to keep the music coming, the look there, the whole package of this person moving along.

There are tons of artists that play their own instruments, write their own material and also hit the road touring to support their projects. Booth sales on Shirts / CD, etc make loot.

The Live show is where the artists can really hammer home their talent. That is a forgotten artform among many that want to lip sync, have tons of pyro and other shit when all you need is just real talent to get the point across.

Lets just get back to having musicains that spent time learning their instruments, perfecting their own artistic visions and not just those that have a look...........
