Plato writes that in 360 BC the city of Atlantis sunk into the depths of the ocean. Several civilizations have written that this city had sources of electricy, medicin, air conditioning etc.

People speculate that the city of Atlantis was actually a civilization of aliens that had setup a colony on earth. Hence, brought the electricity, medicine, etc.. with them from their home planet.
I find this to be mildly logical; however, unprobable. In short, do I believe the city existed? No. Could it have? Absolutely.
I would love if one day in my lifetime we find it though, I'd be on the bandwagon like a mexican to the border

I remember reading that it was based on what the ancient egyptians had believed. Atlantis would've been more like a planet that was destroyed by sinking into the sea. The sea being the sky or space.

City of Atlantis is far from being a myth
If you search in history you will find another civilisation called Mu which has the same facilities like Atlantis. If you search deeper, you will found out that Mu and the Atlantis are the same civilization but the difference is in resources. In eastern historical sources the name of this lost civilization is probably Mu.
And another coincidence is you can find a myth about a yet another lost civilization in an old book called Necronomicon which can be true or a writers (H.P Lovecraft) imagination.
Inside the book , it is written that a civilization called "old ones" came to earth and create a big civilization.
All these facts cant be a coincidence...
Taking into account they are living in an island far way from all other civilizations, how could they communicate with all other parts of the world ? Think about this...
The only answer could be they have a high technologhy to reach others and transmit information...Comment

A small chamber (maybe 8'x?) with some rubble from the ceiling on the floor... They are redesigning the robot crawler to get over the rubble for this reason....
There is a sealed door on the far side from that small tunnel the robot crawled up!!
Last they said on the show was that it could take a year or so to redo the design and get in there... They were also going to tackle the other tunnel/s as time allowed.
You should be able to find more on http://www.pbs.org Just make sure you have ALOT of freetime when you visit that site. They have so many things like that, that the old man spends days on end there.
They have proven the "Great Flood" actually happened and where it was so it could be true about an advanced society... In Bronze age times there was a Minoan civilisation that lived on an island in the Med. At this time a volcano on a nearby Island exploded causing a massive tidal wave. This wiped out the isladn and the civilisation there.
This is probably where the Flood myth came from.
Did you know they have found traces of cocaine in Mummy's bodies? Cocaine is strictly a product of South America.
I think we greatly underestimate the resources and the capabilities of some of the older civilisations.
Medicine? Yes, Air conditioning? Yes a slave with a fan. Electricity? Possible, didn't someone find a container that could have been a battery?Comment

I think the Great Flood involved the Black Sea if I remember the show right. (I don't always pay strict attention to what he watches) lol It's on the PBS site as well.
National Geographic has tons of this sort of thing locatd there as well as several other shows along these lines.
