    Have not time to read the whole of this, but I loved the way Jack Straw rebutted the French ambassador at the UN.

    What I disaggreed to the UN was that sat and talked and achieved nothing. They gave Saddam no specific minimum requirements, it was all open to discussion.

You do realize that Australia is a huge fucking country with an incredibly diverse array of wines. You can't characterize their wine as too sweet. Maybe you've only had Reisling and Semillons, although they have dry Reislings as well. I've had plenty of dry Australian wines.


                                                                                                                                            Believe me, I love Napa wines. I go up to Napa at least once a month, but I'll readily admit that Aussie wines are better values. When I go up to Napa I can easily spend $500 and only come back with 10 - 15 wines. If I spent that much on Aussie wines, it would go a hell of a lot further.

Any decent wineshop has a much better representation. Try K&L Distritbutors.

They made this gross generalizations about California wine based on having only tasted Gallo and Sutter Home, which are both shit. It would be like saying America or Australia has shitty bears, having only tasted Budweiser or Fosters.

                                                                                                                                                            Shiraz is Australia's overproduced grape, and many Australian Shiraz do embody that quality, but definitely not universally.
