                    You're definitely not the only one. I could correct at least 5 people every single day on that one... but it's not worth it.

                    Anyway, one that always bugged me was my mom always calling a butterfly a flutterby.

                    She liked to mix up the letters in words to make them sound funny. And that actually was her intention.

                    Bugged me though, until I researched it and found out that it was infact originally called a "flutterby" because that is what it does.

                    Some other dweebs out there used to mix their letters for fun and it stuck.

                                Who and whom seem to be big problems for some people. It's really easy if you understand what a proposition is (prepositions are words or expressions like to, with, by, under, across from). When the "who" word has an actual or implied preposition, it's "whom." Otherwise, it's "who."

                                                                                                                Aluminium is the proper, English pronounciation. It is used in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. Aluminum is solely used in the USA.

                                                                                                                Same goes for words such as colour, favour, honour, neighbour, etc. Americans drop the 'u' in each case.


                                                                                                                It irks me when people pronounce cache as cashay instead of cash. Also, sangwich instead of sandwich.

                                                                                                                                ok, i have a rebuttle to the spellings and usage of americans, including but not limited to aluminum. but, i am way too tired to type it. i tried, it didn't work, and i have to get up early.

                                                                                                                                there are two clear dialects and/or accepted pronunciations and spellings of the word, which i believe neither to be 'incorrect'.
