this thread is insane... I just registered a domain one week ago for an upcoming project and made an ugly page for SE purposes. Yesterday I put a counter on the main page just to see what happened. It's already listed at google and yahoo and got 490 uniques in just 15 hours. It costed me 15 just because I register at directnic, it would cost even less at godaddy. And then some people is asking 1k for crap domains with 0 traffic? Well, at least it's amusing to read
