How would one go about repo-ing a plane? Hire a pilot? Or load it on a truck? Where to store such a thing? I mean, they can leave it at the airport in some hangar, but that would cost them a lot of money, won't it?

I've seen that show a bunch of times. The repo dude gets a pilot friend of his to come down to the airport and the pilot just climbs in the plane, does his preflight checks and takes off.

The #1.5 reason why they repo stuff is BECAUSE they can't find you.
The cause of THAT is mostly that you're HIDING from them because you can't or won't pay.

yeah I just watched that whole show. amazing jobs they have. They got $15000 for taking back the plane. repo guys only make good money if they do 2-3 car repos a day or go for the big repos... like 2 million dollar to repo planes!

Not really true. I worked for a repo agency in NJ for a little while. Some of the guys doing best were the guys handling office equipment - that was total cake to repo (the office mngr wasn't about to come at you with a baseball bat), and the pay was pretty good. Cars were a mixed bag. The cheap cars were more common - and usually more of a pain in the ass (dangerous area, etc etc). But a nice Mercedes repo could bring in a fat payoff.

avg car will get a repo guy 300 bucks

to make money in the repo business you need to have skip tracing skills too or else you will be spending lot of time and money waiting for someone else to get you info on where a car might be.

Also many repo guys that make tons of cash daily also have a lot where they can keep cars and the bank pays daily.

Its like bails bond the real money makers are both skip tracers and bondsman or else you are not gonna make anything worth while.

On a side note to join the repo business there is no special licence but you need insurance.
