In online personals, this is definitely a problem, however, the percentage of spammers is still quite low. We have an anti-spam/anti-abuse team that works around the clock to block spammers. And, if anyone ever encounters a spammer, they can report it to us from the person's profile. We then immediately investigate and ban them from the site if they are bogus.

Of course being a single guy, you're going to get less responses than if you and your significant other are swingers looking for a single girl or other swingers. There are most definitiely a ton of hot single girls on AFF....I know firsthand.

That's not true, but when you've got 4.5 million members you're going to have spammers. But spammers are everywhere, hardly unique to AFF. But, fact is there are more REAL people on AFF than anywhere on the web. AFF has a dedicated anti-abuse team that reviews all the profiles and investigates all complaints. If anyone encounters a spammer AFF encourages (and makes it very easy) to report them and have them banned. I doubt there's any other site on the web that has as many resources dedicated to this issue than AFF.
