Should I switch to exclusive content?

If you can afford it, the more exclusive the better. At a certain point, I imagine the benefits may not always justify the added expense. Still, people like something special...

I'm also having trouble finding content that I can use in hosted galleries or give to my affiliates, again I guess with exclusive this wouldn't be problem....hmmmmmm, starting to sound like a no brainer.

as a content provider, i must recommend exclusive shots/movies

but theres more to it than just that...

my experiences with using exclusive content is simply that your retention rate gets higher, as your site is the only place to see that content, and the content comming makes the users stay longer...

another thing is the signup ratio, which should also improve if you use the custom content in your tour pages together with what you can see sells, so that the users can see that what they get here, they cannot get elsewhere...

these scenarios are of course not guaranteed, but they should be pretty realistic according to my experiences

I agree, it makes sense. Its just planning the best way to make the switch that's gonna be tricky, obviously I don't want a point in between where I've got no feeds a only a few exclusive vids.

I really like your content by the way.

I would start off by making a "special" area, where the exclusive movies/pics where placed, and still keep the rest of the site, and as the archive of exclusive grew bigger, I would slow down on adding plugins, but still have both plugins and normal licensed content - thats just how I would run a site...

Stick with feeds with no cap on transfer, like ours

Before you make a hasty decision, how are you converting? If you're converting well then to increase your net cash you either need to find cheaper bandwidth/plugin providers or charge more for the site.

Your problem sounds more like one where your profit margins are just too thin. For example, say you add 300 members per month at $30, that's $9,000. You're saying your paying $9000 more for the plugins???? Something isn't right.

Forget exclusive content if it's just a general hardcore movie site you're running, unless you have some major money to invest. If you were doing some kind of niche or reality video site it would be different, you could get by with less movies.
