In any kind of crackdown they're probably going to target the big video producers. It is much easier to prosecute someone for porn they are selling on a video tape. Everyone understands videotapes, so it is easier to explain to the jury. Prosecuting websites is more complex because there is no physical item you can villify. Also, if they go after internet porn, it will all just move offshore.

they most likely will do a mix to get the broadest coverage and message across....going after big and little alike...

First off it would just have to be for adult webmasters. If you look at the free speech coalitions site. Its bookstore owners and strip bars for the most part who get busted and I wouldnt want my membership dollars being spent on them.

A big rule would have to be no explicit porn on your free pages. (I had a meeting with people that wanted to do a adult website and I told the guy we dont do sites with explicit porn on the free pages .We believe in protecting kids, he looked at me like I was fucking insane. Then he went on to tell me how everyone is doing and noone gets in trouble. Thats the attitude for the most part.)Many would never do that because they prefer the easy way.
Another big rule would have to be that we would have to do all our business practices with integrity which means no saying I have 500,000 pics in my site when they really have 500. No fuck the customer. I think most would frown on that also.
We would need adult (who is squeaky clean)to represent us some who looks good on TV and a PR firm to get us on the news programs when porn and the internet comes up. (A example either zdnet or cnet had a story on the video patent thing, it said they asked Holio lawyer for a comment and got none. Now maybe if he opened his mouth and said how today its us tomorrow its you. It would of created support for us) We need a voice we are way too quiet so they can say whatever the fuck they want about us.
Adult webmasters are cheap by nature, most started their business for free.Ever think why no adult lawyers hang on this board, its because they see no money to be made here. I think to pay $500 a year to be a member isn't much if it helped protect me but most webmasters if its not free its not for them.
Also a large amount of adult webmasters live under the illusion they we will never come after me so they don't see the need for forming a strong group with a strong voice.

You can protect yourself, no explicit porn on free pages. If they want to see it they have to pay. For paid porn I doubt they will really go after the mainstream adult sites. When I can walk into borders and buy a penthouse, with pics of one girl sticking a whip handle up anothers pussy. But the people that do extreme shit will be a target but if you want to dance you have pay the band.Comment

Ive been saying this a long time, but from a logical standpoint how long do you really expect to be able to offer hardcore content on free pages.
A few years back when it looked like some law was going to be passed, most paysites started going the way of no hardcore on tour, censor spots, etc.
Now, pretty much every big time program has penetration, fluids, etc on their free tour. Kind of amazing they take that risk actually.

Given that there is no hard and fast definition - or perhaps I should say interpretation - of what constitutes 'obscene' , I wonder how the government would define 'porn site' ?
For example, is a TGP or links list a porn site? They don't have actual porn on them, just links as we all know.
If they are, then presumably so is Google - search for 'porn' and you'll get almost 52,000,000 results.
Somehow, I can't see Google being prosecuted.
