Oregon is a great state, very liberal, no sales tax, great if you love the outdoors.
Our economy is bad right now, but hopefully it will fix itself within 1-2 years.

Seems to me that there is a disproportionate number of people in the industry from Portland relative to its percentage of the US population. I imagine its a smaller city then Charlotte, NC or Jacksonville, FL...yet you don't see those cities well represented on GFY...Comment

Is this typical for this time of the year or a result of the jetstream pattern this year? I seem to remember that parts of the West would be warmer because of this. A few years ago we had spring flowers in Jan and Feb due to el nino.
Oregon is a beautiful state from what I remember - mountains with snowcaps and a gorgeous coastline, not to mention vast forests.Comment

Portland is beautiful....Most of Oregon is, especially the coast line.

That gas-pumping thing kind of freaked me out the first time I drove through there. This may have been partly because my road trip party had just passed a lot of logging stuff and the guy who pumped said gas was dressed like a lumberjack and missing one hand.
