Semi-exclusive gallery templates, designers read this!

A couple of days ago people were asking for a site selling gallery templates... so I am doing it!
I cant do enough templates by myself , so I came up with a system to sell templates from lots of different designers. I showed it to several designers and they all liked it a lot. You can see a preview here: http://64.246.20.61/~admin28/index.htm
I need to fill the site with templates, so I am asking for designers to send me their work. ICQ me at 101411627 if you want to be a part of this project.

Great idea! I'll maybe build some galleries and send them over...
Is it okay to use sponsors content to build the gallery? (seems so with the galleries you've added alread).

I'm just wondering when you've sold like 5 copies of one design, the market is going to be saturated pretty fast...

Yes you may use sponsor content for the templates.
When 5 copies are sold the designer as made more than enough money from his work... and the template will be very cheap by then. So if you want to buy a cheap and somehow overused template, you can! If you want to go after the fresh ones, go for it! It's your choice. I guess newbies will go for the cheap ones

That could be somewhat unfair for the ones that bought the gallery for the higher price...

IMHO i think you should just sell at most 5 copies and then remove that gallery.

I have a time gap between sells. The first is 5 days, then 2 days from there. That way the first guy can use the template for some time without getting overused. Then he can come back and get another fresh one while the others are still buying his leftovers :P
A limit on the number of sells is a possibility, I guess I will have to see how things go and then re-think that point. I doubt a lot of galleries will sell more than five times anyway... maybe some really hot design will sell forever at $5, but the first couple of buyers are the ones that get it on the good spots of all the big TGPs.

I don't think it's a problem because the person will know the price is going to drop after he buys it.

SpaceAce had some cool ideas , the best one for the designers is adding a bonus for the designer of a template that reaches the $5 price. I will be adding that, so keep sending those templates

Not to burst your bubble, but the way I see it is that it would be great for gallery designers if your project works. But I really find it very difficult, because I can't figure why somebody will pay for a semi-exclusive gallery with sponsor content more than a custom unique gallery fitted to the needs of the client. I mean I'd love to get 40+35+30+29+..5 for a single gallery. But I charge 20-30 per gallery and my clients knows that. And most gallery designers are around those figures, so I guess your program would work only if galleries are $15 or less. But then I don't know if designers would give you galleries just to get $12 and dropping (maybe they do, who knows). Anyway, good luck, maybe I'll add a gallery or 2 just to test what happens

Why don't you do the price changes in reverse?

Start it at $5.00, and each time someone buys it, the price INCREASES, until it no longer sells, or to a max price.

harvey tks for the coments. The galleries will cost from $15 to $50 to the first buyer, and then drop. Average galleries will cost $30.
I know every designer can set his own price, and you choose to sell them for 20-30 while others do different prices. But with my system the buyer sees the template before he buys it, and downloads it the same day. That's compensates for knowing that a couple of days later someone else may buy the same template.
Some designers said the prices are low, you say they're high, I guess I'll have to wait and see how it sells.
