    Everyone here bringing up 9/11 needs to STOP. More people die a year in the U.S. (10000+) from GUNS. The U.S. should not attack Iraq until the UN is behind such an action. What really irks me about all the war makers is that they can blab off for hours about 9/11 but no one gives a FUCK about all the people that will die if we go to war. Just write off all the soldiers, write off all the innocent Iraqi people... it's this selfish, aggressive attitude that got the U.S. attacked by terrorists in the first place.

    Why can't we just put all our troops at our FUCKING BORDERS, at our harbors, at our airports, at our embassies....?

        We could but for what purpose. Lets assume that the inspectors found some more chemical, biological materials and some of the remaining missiles/artillary WMD's left over from 1998. Or even one step further, found them all, and destroyed them. Where does that leave us. Saddam would still be in power and he would demand that the sanctions be lifted, if the sanctions are lifted, in a year or two he will be back to full oil production and acquriing the billions of dollars of income Iraq enjoyed prior to the sanctions. He would now be free to rebuild his military, to once again reconstitute his chemical, biological, missile programs and be free to seek out nuclear materials. In addition if all of his chemical and biological materials were not destroyed in total, he just may decide to provide some to the many terrorists groups that hate the USA and/or Israel.

        If the sanctions are not lifted then his people continue to die because he uses the "oil for food and medicine" program for other purposes. By some accounts 2 million have died up to this point because of the sanctions. Would you prefer to see that happen or would you prefer to kill a few thousand in place of a few million?

                                            The problem I have with the anti war crowd is all the arguments against war are either total spin or political.

                                            They also have no solution.

                                            So basically, you people want some hippie utopia fantasyland where there is no war, no suffereing, everyone gets the same share , and have a nice high standard of living and drive an suv.

                                            Now to accomplish this goal, this same group of people....


                                            1. Wants millitary, fbi, cia budgets completely slashed.

                                            2. Wants cheap gas prices, but does not want to drill at home or gain prescense in areas of the world that have large easier drilled oil fields.

                                            3. Want to protest about potential civillians being killed, and at the same time want to leave a man in power that brutalizes his citizens , citizens who do not have an once of freedom, and has used chemical weapons on women and children twice.

                                                    everything that you say about Hussein could be said about a dozen other dictators, and more so about many of them. So why should I be for spending billions of taxpayer dollars and wasting american lives on one little sandpit tyrant?

By the way I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the Republican party. I do not like George Bush as a President and I do not listen too Rush Limbaugh.                                                                                                                                                                 I've also seen it is more to blame on labor strikes in countries that have have nothing to do with this conflict, and that the Iraq situation has had little do do with oil prices.

                                                                                                                                                                Hell - we could just buy all their oil cheaper than the war - that aint it.
