Handicapped models

OK, I promise this question is totally serious and legit.

I just got a call from a model in a wheel chair. He cant walk and has been handicapped since he was 18. But wants to do porn.

How do I handle this the best way. He didnt have any pics to send and has no transportation.

This really isnt the genre I normally photograph.

My main concern is a fear over making sure I am not being set up for any discrimination law suit.

Has anyone else, other content providers ever run across a situation like this and if so how did you handle it?

Im not sure what im suppsoed to do..How do you pose a guy who cant pose or move from the waist down? evidently he can well uhmmm get it up......but not much else..cant stand and can only do so many posed shots......

So i dont know what to do....use him ...is there a amrket for that.?...or can i be set up for discrimination?

He's an aspiring model. =)

I think it would be a good niche tho, in some facet... I would buy a set of his pics assuming they were solo... not sure on my stance on handicapped hardcore.

Tell him he needs to get you a headshot, regardless, until he does so, you guys cant go any further...

Thats not discriminating towards handicapped, thats discriminating towards everyone who wants to waste a photographers time and money.

Who are you discriminating against?

I'd say... just make sure the poses are as lifelike as your other sets... Make sure he's smiling... he looks real, interacts with the camera, etc...

The only problem I would see, is if he was mentally handicapped, if he isnt, I dont see a problem with it, you arent taking advantage of him...

First modeling is not something you can get into hot water with as far as discrimination. You are allowed to discriminate. To be on the safe side though, you should not turn him down because he is in a wheelchair, use another excuse. Lack of transportation, or he is does not have the look you are going for. Do not say Nope I will not shoot you because your in a wheelchair.

I would not see a problem with using the physically handicapped in a shoot though. Like others have said if he or she is not mentally handicapped then who cares.

In auditions for a part, people can't really sue for discrimination. You aren't looking for a person who can't play a position/character that can stand up, etc. Legally, you are fine if you deny him... Especially if you don't tell him why.

On the other hand, its up to you if you want to exploit his disability for personal gain.
