What would you do if a model you shot was raped?

What if after you did a nice hardcore shoot, everything went great, you all said your goodbyes and you really liked the model and even gave the model advice on where to go out to a local bar and the next day you get a call from the model saying she went to the bar, was drugged by the bar tender and her and her friend was raped! Her friend was at the police station and told the cop's what they did before they went to the bar. The cops ask the girl who they were with, she tells them your name they go OH yea we know who that is, he is a pornagapher. btw the girl that did the shoot was 19 the other was 20 years old.

They asked the girl if you tried anything with them, what type of shoot you did and assured the female it was legal to do artistic nude etc... What would you do with the tape? the model release? Now you feel like shit i mean REAL shit that you hired these models and they go out to get raped. OH you also called around to find out if the bar tender was arrested and you find out it was true! Now ya feeling like total shit, waiting for the cops to come question you. Would you go back to the hotel where they are staying? would you send flowers?

damn man, thats a tough one, I would anything I could to help with the law and to help the girls recover. Find out if they need anything, they know you didnt cause the problem. Just be as supportive as possible.

As long as the content is legal I would keep it. Perhaps hold off on putting it online right away.

I would send something as an apology as it sounds like you have a heavy guilt load from recommending these girls go to this bar. Its not your fault they got raped though from what I can see here so if you are innocent you should be ok.

Unfortunately the police are probably going to be all over your ass in the very near future so I would make sure you have all your model releases and legal paperwork in impecible order so they can go through them all AND more importantly I would make copies of all your releases and put them somewhere safe offsite. That way if they seize your release while they search your place your content is still covered by the releases.

I mean, yes, the chain of events stemmed from her meeting you. But, a million bad things can happen within any given day, depending on the choices we make.

Get a lawyer, but I don't see what you did that was illegal.

I would hold the content, out of respect...

Like if I did a photo shoot with a girl who died shortly thereafter - it would just be odd to use the pics.

I read a piece in Details a few years back, it was coping with the aftermath and trying to move on in a relationship... it really didn't have many positives.

In fact, I think it was the most depressing article I have ever read in a men's lifestyle mag. Not the happy-feel good Maxim style article, at all.

Some things in life are unfortunate and have a huge impact, but you are right - all you can do is support someone in moving on when there is nothing more to do.

Personally, I would freak the fuck out--daily.

I have seen this before when I was in Montreal first get a lawyer, contact free speech coalition where you are sure to get proper representation to protect yourself. The most important thing for you though is to comfort the victim. What she did for you was consenting what happened at the bar was rape, rape is punitiable as it was non consenting and non voluntary action on her part. What you do is not illegal, mind you I do not know the laws out there, but the police can't do anything to you. As I told you get a lawyer and do not forget to call free-speech.

Good lord didn't mean to start something ;( Guess i should of explained it better I know i am not in trouble, What I was needing to know I feel like shit cause I hired them, I was in no way involved in that shit, I've been wacking my brain out on what or if I should do anything besides talking to them on the phone. And I wanted to know if it happed to you what you would do. What I shot, what I did prior has nothing to do with this. Unless you shooting adult models in adult situations is illegal where you are, then you don't need to do anything from a legal standpoint..

True.. the cops may come and question you, but again, if what you did with the girls is not illegal, they have nothing on you.

Your shoot was totally separate from their trip to the bar.. They could have just as easily stopped you on the street and asked where a fun place to go was.

Definitely go to see them and offer your help to whatever extent you can manage.

Thanks Goth, I know it wasn't my fault but argh#$% the same shit that happened to these two girls happened to me in 98 it brought back some deep emotions that I had burried, freaked out today and its all over the damn news now, nothing about me. I just finished talking to a lawyer bad mistake by comming to a bbs board and posting anything aobut what happens like this. I have been assured im in the clear on any wrong doing, they may want a statment and may ask tons of question that i will then have to direct them to my lawyer. FUCK this is going to cost a penny. Really I just freaked out because I know how it feels to go through what they went through I just want to go hug them hold them help them but I can not do this. Been warned to stay away from it. as for using the content I will use it, the girls at this point hasn't said anything about not using it, she don't blame me and feels bad that her friend mention my named. There will be no more calls made to them on my behalf.
