Well then the guy that wrote the article you read was smoking crack. NO ONE has a retention rate that would average ALL their members at 2 months stay. Most sites are lucky to get 1/3 or so of their members to make it past the trial and onto a monthly recur.

Most likely you have misunderstood what the article said -- someone saying their average retention is 2 months would generally indicate the surfers that did convert from trial to full stayed that long, NOT directly mean that all their trials converted and stayed two months. Perhaps that sounds ambiguous in its' wording but nonetheless it's the only way to take such a statement to have meaning.

And yes, they could still pay their affiliates and their bills on the numbers I am laying out without stealing from anyone provided their payouts weren't ridiculously high.

here is one rule i have found about the adult industry (vet since 97)- take whatever the number is and divide it by at least 10 and you will find the true figure

i'd say Kimmy's #s are pretty much right on the money
i couldnt have said it better myself.

as far as the total #, i dont want to guess but i'd say its pretty easy to figure out knowing the top or as in this case the top three are known. Colin and Serge both know or have the name of the formula for doing this.

You can also use the same formula to find out the total # of sign ups a program does by only knowing the what their top advertiser gets. I could do this with ARS and few others, but havent bothered to try.

someone mentioned Intergal doing 5k a day. Few months back in their email to affiliates they said how many they do and it might have been 5k a day, i cant remember. But that # is long gone and Intergal is not the same intergal it once was.

in my view, these guys are top 4 (in no order)

Very good question and a nice topic. I've often wondered this myself.. my own personal guess is around 50,000 as well.

Having been in 2 different high profile UPPER MANAGEMENT positions with companies that I KNOW generated 4 - 5000+ joins per day, I can tell you that it ain't so today.

1 company is basically out of business, and its' owner has fled the country

The other is still around, but doesnt have nearly the position in this industry it once did.

Times have changed, and there's NO DOUBT about that!

The thing is - YOU CAN'T discount or ignore the AVS's - the top 2 are NOT Bullshit 2 bit players - and there are a few other players of noteworthy size ... AND the live 1 on 1 video conferencing companies have TONS of repeat buyers - This I KNOW as well!

Also, take into consideration the abundance of mail that's sent perpetually around the clock, and the fact IS that there are TONS of surfers that CONSTANTLY buy memberships every month.

I'd say KimmyKim's math ain't too far off!
