Should third party billing companies pay us interest on resever hold backs?

If a third party billing company holds back a reserve amount on OUR money should they pay us interest on it?

Would love to hear why and why not.

    Hugs,
    Danielle

    Yes - they should.

They earn interest while holding it.

It doesn't really matter. If they paid interest on the reserve, they'd simply raise the percentage their charge on transactions to make up for their loss.

          according to Chris from Epoch:

As for this idea of the reserves making us money; sorry to say we get nada. The bank gets the float. That is our deal with our bank. I don?t know about the other processors.

              psyko514,

Sounds like they need a new bank.

The reserve is held by the bank on the merchant account not the processor.

                  TheDoc,

Regardless of who holds the reserve. Interest should be paid on it.

                  Hugs,

The processor shouldnt pay the interest as they don't get it, the bank does. It's a merchant bank account not a personal/business bank account.

It's not possible for the bank to pay the interest on the reserve.
