I don't mean to rain on your parade, but why would someone with the skills to get search engine traffic, send it to you and not to a sponsor directly? If you had your own sites it would be one thing, but it seems like you don't.

If you want search engine traffic, start reading, researching and experimenting.

Your original post didn't say you wanted your own sites promoted, it said you were going to send hits to sponsors.

Can't help you mutch with the SE's mate, I would however suggest downloading Good keywords (free).

Run a search in google and you will find it, It tells you what people are searching for and so forth.

yea im not sure how to deal with this as far as making the deal.

maybe half cash up front, and half upon me seeing my placement or something.

Well ive spoken to a few dozen people, they always say google is the only one worthwhile anymore. Figured it be a waste of cash paying for spots there.

While it is true that Google is by far the most important search engine these days, its also where competition is the fiercest. Lycos and AV are small but with a little work they can be cost effective. Inktomi still powers MSN so it still has serious traffic, plus it was bought by Yahoo recently. These three certainly don't compare with Google but you're more likely to be able to achieve results with them.

Why not just buy traffic? This SE is very unpredictable at best and lately it has gone to shit, nobody gives antything out for free anymore, you should include this in your business model.

As far as your girlfriend, dude if your business model for adult includes naggy girlfriend complaining about your spending too much time paying the bills, with all due respect you are in the wrong business or with the wrong girl. time to choose.

But glancing over me ( and I don't know anything about your sites or such) you're taking a huge chance just hiring some seo nowadays on a promise especially if you're considering leaving the business..

maybe post your sites, someone might have better suggestion to you as far as what you can do.good luck anyways

No offence but if you've been in this for a "long time" and you've now come up with this fantastic way of buying traffic from Search engine guys then you haven't done too well. (nobody with those skillz would do what your asking and your whole plan isn't to smart)

This probably isn't your biz if thats the best you can come up with or even considering doing that. Go get a normal job and leave this biz for the people who have made it there biz for the last 2-5 years.

Believe me, go spend time with your girl, you don't want to lose her over a business which your not doing well at. Shes worth a lot more than this silly business

As a new SEO, I will go ahead and tell you. 90% of the people who claim to be SEOs and claim to be able to get you top spots are full of shit (note: I said most...not ALL). I've been doing a shitload of research on SEO forums and such and these so called SEOs are getting domains blacklisted left and right, so be careful if you hire someone.

There is no guarenteed way to grab a top spot in the listings, there are no guarentees at all when it comes to the SEs...especially google.

One of the few people who talks sense about SE's. Bet you ha'penny though few will ever believe it.

Lil2rich guy. Drop the idea. Really. It's the sort of method you use to top up income when you already have decent cashflow and more importantly you know what you're doing.

Rather than running around like a headless chicken you need to find something that makes you a little money be it TGP, AVS, free sites, whatever then for a while hit it like mad. Spend your 16 hours doing that. Build, submit and repeat. It's repeticious but will make money. Ignore all the 'advice' (many of the guys who wanna give you it are probably making no more than you), read a few good articles at places like porn resource and go full steam ahead concentrating on one thing. And don't expect instant money or results from it even if you choose TGP. In most cases it simply wont happen.

Oh well. That's my limit for useful advice this month. Do with it what you will. Back to spending most of the time on this board insulting newbies fpr being stupid. It's far more fun and at the end of the day probably far better for my bank balance than trying to get more people to actually succeed at this.

Hate to say it, but I have to chime in and agree with the rest of the crowd in here on that kind of offer to an SEO.

Your offer will attract every SEO shister that there is.

A good SEO will be speculative regarding your offer in the first place.

You should know that it will do you better to spend the time to study the Google forum at WebmasterWorld. Thats probably one of the most current forums there is on the subject, not to mention that Google has an undercover that participates there.

READ, READ, READ. Then you will have a better chance at figuring this out yourself and saving a bunch of money while investing in your future in this biz.

On your girl...set your priorities. Whats more important to you?
Set some timeframes for your work schedule and stick to it. You owe it to your girl and you owe it to yourself.

Important thing to consider is SEO takes some time. If you redid all your sites today you might get in on refresh for a day or 2 but first they need to be indexed which is early March then the dance end of march and you would see results. If you screwed up then start over. So My experience on Google is it takes some time. I doubled my google hits this month with stuff I did in Dec.

instead of paying someone to get you top listings on SE's - why not just pay for top listings on PPC SE's like Overture, Findwhat, Kanoodle, 7search, and Sex.com?

$200 is a couple thousand good targeted clicks on a PPC SE.

Funny thing is, while everyone says search engine top spots can't be guaranteed... I knew this guy, who was able to get sites up to #1 for keywords of his choice on a few big Dutch search engines within a few weeks.
Took 'em years to find out how he did it.
