Speaking of not getting a 1099..
This is a first for me this year/last year. I had been with Lancelot Security since 1996 and every year, got a 1099 to do my estimated taxes etc. So, I was quite suprised when I asked a question a week ago about whether ya'll had gotten your 1099s.
Turns out NO ONE gets 1099s from ccbill, ibill, etc.
So when you figure out your self employment taxes, you just do it from your own records obviously. But has anyone on here ever been audited and had to show their records without any 1099s? If so, what was the outcome?
P.S. I was a bit stunned too when told that billing companies DO NOT report your income to the IRS either. That can't possibly be true can it?

This is how it works
They come to your door "Knock, Knock"
Flash a batch and say
"Hi we are from the Internat Revenue Service and here to audit your business"
Than they give you a list of things they want from you..
In my case they took my paperwork back to their office and I received them back 2 month later, with a nod and thank you
God help you if you ever get audited. It sucks. I was sweating bullets for a long time, but hey I had nothing to hide, always paid my taxes on my income, so everybody was happy.
