Going to England

Julian from Wifetrader.com and me, myself and I are tracking to England March 19th. We would love to meet up with some of you English Folks, have a beer or two etc. I think that would be kewl.

We will be in London the 19th and 20th. On the 21st we will be visiting some friends of ours in Manchester and Scottland.

Agreed - You may need to rethink your arrangements.
It'll take you (minimum)4 hours from London to Manchester and depending where in Scotland, another (minimum)3 hours, probably 6...

There is so much to do between Manchester, Liverpool and Bolton, you'll have a blast if you take time to explore...

I don't know about the school but it's an OK place to live, you might want to venture a little further afield for the nightlife, Sheffield and Manchester are good.

I am new to the area, but I guess its my area now.

Leeds is a city in the North, within an hour of quite a few other cities. You would be close to Sheffield, York, Lincoln, and Manchester. From what I hear, Leeds is a pretty cool city, though the others are nearby if you want variety.

The school has a good rep..if you are going to live in Leeds you should start reading upa bit on the recent news in the town just so you know what has been going on. It is a nice place just good to know the recent problems in the area. Also, find out who 'El Tel' is and you are half way to feeling at home ;)

It's a good university, with a solid reputation. What are you doing there? (I'm thinking politics or philosophy).

My ex went to Manchester University, so I went out a couple of times in Leeds, as they are (relatively) close. Lots of girls in tiny skirts wondering around in the brutal fucking cold, but you live in Detroit so it'll probably feel pleasantly warm.

To be honest I have a hard time imagining anybody voluntarily living outside London but I'm sure plenty of people - inbred northerners most likely - will tell you different.

The only disadvantage I can see for a man of your disposition is the fact you won't be allowed to carry large amounts of automatic weapons around with you - although I know a man who could probably sort it out for you...

Hit me up on ICQ if there is anything you want to know generally (I've told you mostly what I remember about Leeds) about this green and pleasant land etc...
