Microsoft has nothing to loose by either supporting nor objecting, there is no motive for them to act.
The potential value of this is profound and for it to be dropped in a single package only makes a better target for the whales in the sea. The best thing to count on is that this "Patent" issue embroil in courts for many many years till there is no winner on either side.

So you see no benefit for M$ to help fight Acacia? Funny how pessimism is such a kneejerk reaction. There are so many benefits to fight Acacia on a business level that it would be stupid not to. Especially when Acacia has a record for going after major corporations on patent infringement and tying them up in litiagation ( 8 years for V-Chip ) M$ is helping to cut Acacia off at the knees before they go after M$ in the future. I can't believe you don't see that.
